Empowering Young Men to Build Their Future

Empowering Young Men to Build Their Future
At Boys II Men Transitional Living Home, we believe in the limitless potential of our youth. Our programs are designed to equip young men with the skills, knowledge, and emotional support needed to overcome adversity, develop healthy coping strategies, and prepare for independent, successful lives. Each service is rooted in empathy, structure, and evidence-based practice to ensure holistic growth and long-term impact.
Comprehensive Screening & Clinical Assessments
All residents receive individualized assessments, conducted or supervised by licensed clinical staff, to develop tailored support plans. These assessments help identify behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs—and guide the delivery of trauma-informed care throughout their stay.
Daily Life Skills Proficiency Program
At our home, we believe learning essential life skills is just as important as academic and personal growth. Our Life Skills Proficiency Program is designed to teach practical daily living tasks and instill long-term self-sufficiency. Participants build competence in essential areas such as hygiene, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and more, fostering both independence and accountability.
How It Works:
● Residents are assigned a variety of household life skills training, such as cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, living room, dining room, hallways, and laundry areas.
● Staff members observe residents completing these tasks to ensure they are done
correctly and according to the duty task sheet.
● Each task is an opportunity to build responsibility, attention to detail, and independence.
Earning Pay Through Proficiency:
● Once a resident demonstrates they can complete life skills successfully and accurately,
they are awarded a certificate of proficiency for that task.
● Along with the certificate, residents receive an extra amount added to their weekly
allowance, rewarding their hard work and commitment to learning.
● If a resident struggles with a task, staff continue to work alongside them, providing
guidance until they are confident and capable of performing it on their own.
This program encourages responsibility and provides a tangible incentive for residents to take pride in their environment. Over time, they master all aspects of daily living skills—from basic cleaning to organization—while earning recognition and financial rewards for their achievements.
Life Skills & Independence Readiness
We prepare our residents for adulthood with practical tools they can use for a lifetime:

Making a Difference, One Life at a Time
Our services are not just about programming—they’re about purpose. At Boys II Men Transitional Living Home, we nurture potential, rebuild confidence, and walk alongside every young man on his journey toward stability, self-respect, and success.
Weekly Resident Achievement Program
At Boys II Men Transitional Living Home, we believe in recognizing progress and reinforcing positive behavior through structure and accountability. Each week, residents are evaluated through our Weekly Resident Achievement Program, which is designed to track and support their personal growth across core areas of independent living and social development.
Resident progress is measured using a comprehensive 5-point scale that evaluates the following categories:
● Daily Living Skills (Life Skill Activities) – Includes hygiene, bedroom cleanliness, laundry,
and cooking
● Behavior – Overall conduct within the home and during activities
● Activity Participation – Engagement in structured outings, enrichment events, and group activities
● Therapy Participation – Attendance and participation in scheduled therapy sessions
(individual, group, family, etc.)
● School Attendance & Participation – Consistency and effort in school enrollment,
classes, and academic support
The 5-point scale allows both staff and youth to reflect on weekly performance:
5 – Always completed the task with no issues
4 – Completed most of the time
3 – Sometimes completed
2 – Rarely completed
1 – Did not complete
Each resident receives a weekly rating based on this rubric, and achievements are directly tied to weekly incentives and their personal development plans. This transparent, strengths-based approach not only encourages accountability but also allows youth to set weekly goals, self-evaluate their growth, and build life-long habits that promote independence.
